After twelve years, today is my last day in CORD. Last night I was surprised by my Ateneo CORD family and friends with a despedida party and as they "roasted me" I realized why I stayed. Because coming to work never really felt like a job. Even when the hours are long, I’d have to take home work, or my feet would die from standing a whole day –all of these are buoyed by the joy of doing what we do and being with the nicest people in the world. Throughout the years I was extremely luck to work with people dreamt with me, supported and cared for each other, and went the extra mile.
So despite the sadness, I will forever grateful for the opportunity to be in the best playground ever. Because beyond the goals we achieved, programs we created, books we wrote, and organizations and people we helped – I will miss the trips, the laughter, the banter, the celebrations, and the food in the pantry :-p
Thank you for the love Ateneo CORD. I will carry your love with me as I move a couple of buildings away.
